Under the patronage of the Prime Minister and with the participation of 150 local, regional, and global companies [Kuwait held the 1st Oil & Gas Conference]


Al-Helal handing KJO's gift to Kuwait Minister of Oil Al-Shamali

On Monday, October 7,2013, his Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah opened Kuwait's Conference and Exhibition for Oil and Gas which was held in Kuwait Regency Hotel.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah and Oil Minister Mustafa Jassim Al- Shamali, Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Abdullah Al-Badri, a number of senior State officials and guests. The ceremony began with the national anthem and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

Following that, Minister of Oil Mustafa Jassim Al Shamali gave his speech which he confirmed by saying, "As the State of Kuwait is one of the major producers of oil, we are keen and are working to secure its supply to world markets regularly. There is no doubt that we are faced by a reality that obliges us all to cooperate to ensure a better future for our generations through investments in all types of energy sources on the basis of economic and non-discrimination in the light of the growing global demand for energy".

He added, "Our vision is to exploit the oil wealth on the basis of sustainable development and the importance of building and developing human abilities in order to get professional and scientific qualifications and provide more employment opportunities." This was followed by the word of the President of the Conference - Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation ( KPC ) Eng. Nizar Mohammad Al-Adsani, who said that this conference comes in a timely manner that coincides with the efforts of the Kuwaiti oil sector to proceed with the implementation of the 2030 Strategy.

Various guests visited KJO's wing. The most prominent of those visitors were Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Kuwait - Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Ulum, former Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce Dr. Abdullah Al-Hajri, and former CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) - Farouk Al-Zanki.
