Kuwait Celebrates its National and Liberation Day

On June 19, 1961, Kuwait became an independent State, during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. The first Independence Day was celebrated on June 19, 1962, and because of the intense heat of the month of June, the celebration of this day was changed to February 25 of each year beginning in 1963. February 25 is also the day of Amir Abdullah Al-Salem's sitting celebration.
The anniversary of Kuwait's independence and liberation in this year comes as the extension of the march initiated by grandparents, built by parents, and carried on by their children confidently and competently, to add to Kuwait a number of accomplishments written by the Kuwaiti citizen until it became part of the composition.
