After a Five-Year Shutdown

KJO Exports the First Crude Oil Shipment



On Saturday, April 4th, 2020, and on behalf of JOC, the Executive Director of Operations (EDO) Eng. Abdullah A. Al-Otaibi inaugurated exporting the First KJO Crude Oil Shipment, in the presence of a number of department managers, superintendents and technical staff.
The shipment was loaded to the Oil Tanker “Dar Salwa”, as the first shipment after resuming production in KJO on March 23rd, 2020, and as an outcome of KJO employees dedicated efforts, under the infinite support of the concerned in the two brotherly countries – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and State of Kuwait.
It is worth mentioning that the countdown for production resumption was launched by H.R.H. Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Salman; Minister of Energy, and H.E. Dr. Khalid Al-Fadhel; Minister of Oil, in the celebration arranged by KJO on December 25th, 2019, after a five-year shutdown, which period was exploited in upgrading and developing all production facilities.
In spite of the current challenges; including the pandemic of COVID-19, KJO has succeeded in exporting one million barrels of crude oil to the Asian markets, after applying all handling procedures, as per the international specifications and HSE standards.
