AGOC Bids Farewell to

Dr. Fahad A. Al-Ajmi



Dr. Fahad Al-Ajmi is the subsurface advisor for the Executive Director of Operation Business Line at Khafji joint Operations Company (KJO) and the Upstream department manager in AGOC. .

Dr. Alajmi is a Saudi Aramco senior Reservoir Engineering consultant and serving as a loanee to the Aramco Gulf Operation Company since January 2014.

Fahad served as SPE Distinguished Lecturer in the subject of reservoir management in 2008-9. In 2013 Dr. Alajmi received the SPE Regional “Management and Information Award”.

He has led the first Saudi Aramco intelligent Khurais Complex subsurface field development that came on stream in 2009 with production capacity of 1.2 million Barrels per day which makes it the largest oil field development in the company’s history, and perhaps the largest project of its kind in the world.

He authored and coauthored eleven patents in the areas of intelligent field, well construction and well completion. In addition, Fahad has published more than 15 papers.

He holds BSc from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), MS from University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University all in petroleum engineering. He also served as a part time lecturer at KFUPM teaching the subjects of formation evaluation and advanced water flooding.
Fahad has worked in reservoir management of Saudi Aramco fields for over 25 years. Recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for successful completion of reservoir management projects and studies and published several papers.
He has served on several SPE forums and workshops committees.
